If your procedure is scheduled on Monday you should contact us on the Friday before. If we do not hear from you, we will call your home after 3:00pm, but if we have not been able to reach you by the end of our business day, we cannot guarantee that your procedure will be performed. When this situation occurs, please call the above number for basic pre-operative instructions and how to contact us the morning of your procedures.
Any stomach contents are potentially dangerous so please follow the eating and drinking restrictions provided by your physician or the THSC nurse. If you are unsure, please do not eat or drink anything after midnight prior to your surgery.
We have strict policies regarding jewelry. Please leave all jewelry, especially body piercings and valuables at home. Wear loose fitting clothing; do not wear makeup or perfume.
Please arrive at the time instructed. We have already included additional time prior to your procedure for admission procedures. There is no need to arrive earlier than the time indicated.
In general it is a good idea not to come alone. However, if you receive sedation you MUST have a ride or your procedure will be cancelled. You will not be permitted to drive following any type of sedation.
Please complete the enclosed medical history form and bring it with you on the day of your procedure as this will eliminate delay in your admission process.
back to topTurk's Head Surgery Center fees are based on a combination of factors including the amount of time required in the operating room, pre-operative area, recovery area, the amount and type of medical and anesthesia supplies used during the procedure, the laboratory tests ordered, the equipment needed and what types of implants or prosthetics required.
Not included in the fee are your physician's charges or charges from the Anesthesiologist and/or Nurse Anesthetist (if applicable). These will be billed to you separately.
Please bring your insurance cards, any referrals required for your procedure and any co-pays or deductibles due as these fees must be paid at the time of service.
Generally, most insurance companies will reimburse THSC directly for surgical care. We will make every attempt to verify coverage in advance to notify you of any amounts you may owe. THSC will file a claim with your insurance for you, however, responsibility for payment rest with the patient should your insurance company deny coverage.
In addition to your insurance cards, we will also be asking for photo identification, employer information, your social security number (required by state law), information related to work or motor vehicle injuries and ask that you have this information available.
Charges for cosmetic surgery and non-insurance cases must be paid at the time of service.
Acceptable forms of payment are cash, cashier's check, money orders, American Express, Visa or MasterCard. Prior financial arrangements can be made by contacting us at 484-723-0100.
back to topIf you have received sedation, you will be taken to our recovery area and monitored by a registered nurse until you are awake and ready to be discharged.
Once you are fully awake and ready for discharge, the nurse will provide you with post-operative self-care instructions. Careful adherence to them will greatly speed your recovery and return to normal activity levels.
Just before you are discharged, a member of our medical staff will see you to insure that you are ready to leave and answer any questions you may have regarding your post operative instructions.
We will notify your ride that you are ready to leave while you are getting dressed and then escort you to your car for your return home.
The following business day, our registered nurse will telephone you to check on your condition and answer any additional questions you may have.
In the event of a medical emergency prior to discharge, you may need to be transferred and admitted to an area hospital for additional care.
In the event a medical emergency occurs after leaving THSC, please go directly to the closest hospital emergency room for additional care.
